Lion in the Grass Cuff
One-of-a-Kind: this jungle themed cuff sports a lion head amount jungle grasses and leaves. The lion’s face is copper with a sterling silver mane surrounding it and on either side are anodized niobium* grasses and leaves. All of it is riveted to a brass cuff that is 1-1/4” wide. All the components of this cuff wiere hand cut with a jeweler’s saw. The cuff is self-adjusting to fit most wrist sizes.
To clean copper/brass when they tarnish, put it in white vinegar. The process will go faster if the vinegar is warm. Be sure to rinse afterward and dry. This works to clean the sterling silver in a design with copper also. It will not harm the niobium because niobium is resistant to acids.
* Niobium (Nb) is a reactive metal similar to titanium. An electrical current passed through it will change the surface color (anodized). The amount of voltage applied will determine the color. It is hypoallergenic because it is resistant to acids and alkalines. To clean, if it loses it’s shine, use any window cleaner. It costs about the same as sterling silver and is a bit lighter in weight. While the anodized color should not fade, it is a surface color and can scratch but not readily.
