A Window into the Sea Necklace
One-of-a-kind: A copper frame surrounds a peek into an underwater sea. The anodized niobium* background and three anodized fish, provide the colorful seawater scene with sterling silver seaweed completing the pendant. The matching, handmade chain consists of alternating copper and matching anodized niobium 2 x 2 chain maille.
The pendant measures 2” wide and 1-1/2” high. The chain part of the necklace is 19” long. The clasp is a sterling silver lobster claw.
* Niobium (Nb) is a reactive metal similar to titanium. An electrical current passed through it will change the surface color (anodized). The amount of voltage applied will determine the color. It is hypoallergenic because it is resistant to acids and alkalines. To clean, if it loses it’s shine, use any window cleaner. It costs about the same as sterling silver and is a bit lighter in weight. While the anodized color should not fade, it is a surface color and can scratch but not readily.
